Windows 10 at Olin

Beginning Summer 2016, we will start deploying Windows 10 for all new and reloaded PCs. We understand that this may be an adjustment for some people who are comfortable with Windows 7, but we feel this is the right time to make this change.

Windows 10 offers better security, better performance, and aligns us with the new generation of computers that are being released. Moving to Windows 10 also keeps us aligned with the standard desktop WU IT is beginning to deploy to its users. Lastly, it keeps us aligned with the systems you are using at home and which are students are using.

To help you make the transition, we've collected links to online videos and training from both Microsoft and Lynda.com. Lynda.com is an online training resource with thousands of online courses that are available to you as a member of our community. To access Lynda.com, go to the Lynda.com sign-in page and you will be prompted to logon with your WUSTL key and setup your account.

We also have two quick reference guides that are one page "cheat sheets" that shows you where everything is on the new Windows 10 Start Menu, and the changes between Windows 7 and Windows 10 Start Menus. Print these out and keep them handy.
